A day of holiday fun . . .
Friends of Wyneken sponsored a bus trip to the Chicago Christkindlmarket this November, to enjoy the sights, sounds, eats and drinks of a traditional German Christmas market. The market is in its 13th year and is patterned after the famous Christkindlmarkt in Nürnberg, Germany. Chicago’s market has grown every year, attracting visitors in a growing region, while many vendors come there directly from Europe. The trip was an all day affair, with plenty of time to browse the booths in the market or any of the major downtown stores close by for that special Christmas gift. The market features a selection of fresh German bratwurst and kartoffelpuffer (potato pancake). Consider a glass of hot glühwein (mulled wine) to warm up your cheeks and toes after a while and enjoy a few laughs with your favorite shopping companion. Join us on the next trip…
